Cassandra Rae Steele (born December 2, 1989, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian actress and singer-songwriter best known for portraying Manny Santos on Degrassi: The Next Generation. She is part Filipino and part British. Steele appeared in the 2007 MTV movie, Super Sweet 16: The Movie . Steele is currently living in Los Angeles, California in order to concentrate on her music career. She attended London School of Dance in Scarborough, Ontario and trained in ballet and jazz dance. She began crafting her own songs to go with her poetry when she was in the first grade, she then began taking singing lessons. Steele has been a regular cast member on Degrassi: The Next Generation playing the character of Manny Santos since she was eleven years old. At the age of thirteen Cassie wrote and recorded the song “Prayer” which was used nationally to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. Her debut album: How Much for Happy was released in 2005, followed by two Canadian tours. Steele’s follow-up album, Destructo Doll was released on July 21st, 2009. Cassie is best friends with her co-stars Miriam Mcdonald and Nina Dobrev. She also is close friends with Sara Paxton. She is the older sister of Alex Steele who also appears on Degrassi: The Next Generation as Angela Jeremiah, Joey Jeremiah’s daughter and Craig Manning’s half-sister.

She has joined the band Karamel which she plays Mel and is currently living in Toronto Canada.
